The brothers of Phi Kappa Psi at Texas Tech University are offering five scholarships totaling $2,000 to freshman entering Texas Tech University in the fall.

 

The Texas Tech Phi Psi Freshman Scholarship is an excellent way to earn a little bit of extra money for college, and aims to reward you for your all of your hard work and achievements during high school.

 

This scholarship is described below, and the 2009 application can be accessed below. The deadline for this application is July 31st, 2009. We look forward to learning about you and your accomplishments.

Scholarship Description

Presented by the men of Phi Kappa Psi – Texas Tech University

 


This scholarship aims to reward men with outstanding high school careers entering their first year at Texas Tech University. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis. We will be accepting applications for the 2009 Texas Tech Phi Psi Freshman Scholarship beginning May 12th, 2009. Thank you for your interest in The Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity’s Texas Tech Phi Psi Freshman Scholarship.

 

The Texas Tech Phi Psi Freshman Scholarship seeks out the most outstanding young men entering Texas Tech University. Of the applications received, the most qualified applicants are named semifinalists and move on to the round of interviews.

 

Each semifinalist is then interviewed by members of the scholarship selection committee prior to the start of the school year. The pool is narrowed once more to approximately twenty finalists who are then invited to the Phi Psi Scholarship Banquet, held on campus at the start of the school year.

 

Each of the finalists is announced at this banquet as are each of the winners. The banquet is a great opportunity for the young men to meet their future colleagues and celebrate each other's accomplishments.

 

The scholarship winners will be selected based upon their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community services performed, and leadership abilities.

 

The award amounts for the scholarship are as follows:

1st Place - $1,000

4 Runner Ups - $250 each
